HOW TO CLEAN YOUR PIERCINGS

Before cleaning your piercings ALWAYS make sure to wash your hands thoroughly. Spray the back or front of your piercing if you are seeing crusties or blood. If needed use a q tip to gently remove any crusties. Gently dry your piercing after spraying with saline or rinsing your piercing. You can also take a warm shower and gently remove any crusts and when getting out of the shower removing any stubborn debris with saline wound wash and q tip.

THINGS TO AVOID

ORAL PIERCINGS

oral piercings are very prone to swelling and for this I always recommend eating and drinking anything cold. After eating or drinking anything that could be getting near or in the piercing I would suggest rinsing with bottled water. In the time your piercing is healing avoid anyone else’s bodily fluids (sharing foods & drinks) . Remember smoking could affect the way your piercing heals.

  • As best as you can avoid letting your piercings have too much movement by either clothing , playing with your piercings or sleeping on them

  • Do NOT over clean your piercing this can cause your piercing to heal slower then intended

  • Avoid personal care and beauty products near or on the piercing during the healing process

  • Avoid rough oral contact

  • NO swimming in any bodies of water during the healing process

  • Please do not use any harsh chemicals like rubbing alcohol, bactine, hydrogen peroxide, anti bacterial soap, Neosporin, or any ointments

I always love reminding my client less is more , please do not clean your piercings with saline wound wash unless you’re seeing crusties or blood. Your body does most of the healing, the solution will only help clean the area. Chemicals in any of the products you might think of using could cause any delay in healing process.
